The 2021 Beat the Train 5K has been postponed. We plan to have this event again the spring of 2023.
Ride the Train To The Start, Race The Train Back To Town
Ever dream of going toe to toe with a TRAIN?
Make your dreams a reality and register to race the Coopersville/Marne locomotive on Saturday, November 6, 2021. We are back to boarding the train in Coopersville this year! You do have the option to be dropped off at the start if you wish.
The train speed is going to be based on the average estimated finish time of ALL registrants. All runners are asked for their estimated finish time when they register. If we add up 300 estimated finish times, divide by 300, and the average is 25 minutes, then it will take the train about 25 minutes from start to finish.
Regardless of your pace, get ready for your best 5K time ever, we can almost guarantee it! All finishers receive a finisher medal.
-Limited to 300 runners (register sooner rather than later) Check the number of seats reserved by selecting the Register Now menu item
-Runners will be transported by train to the starting point 2.5 miles away
-$36 registration entry with optional $15 tshirt ($5 price increase on Sept. 15 and Oct. 13)
-Flat & fast 5K course. Partial lane closure of main road.
-A portion of the race proceeds will go to fund the completion of a handicap accessible train car for the Coopersville/Marne railroad. The 2021 race proceeds will go towards purchasing a generator for the handicap accessible train car.
