HELP US MOVE THIS TRAIN!

Join us for the 3rd annual Beat the Train 5K on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Coopersville, just west of Grand Rapids, to help raise funds for a handicap accessible railcar for the Coopersville & Marne Railroad.

The West Michigan Society for Industrial Heritage has been working for a number of years to complete an ADA compliant railcar.  The Coopersville & Marne Railway fields calls almost weekly asking about handicap railcar accessibility.  Unfortunately, riders have to be turned away because the railcar is not complete.  HELP US MOVE THAT TRAIN by registering for the Beat the Train 5K on Saturday, November 6, 2021.  A portion of the race proceeds will help get this rail car on the tracks.

300 runners will board the Coopersville & Marne train in downtown Coopersville for a 15 minute train ride to the starting line.  The train speed is going to be based on the average estimated finish time of ALL registrants.    The race is limited to 300 runners and is expected to sell out before race day.

Tshirts are an additional purchase extra and guaranteed until October 13.  The race will be chip timed by Epic Race Timing.  The 5K course is flat and fast.  6 inch railroad spikes will be awarded to the top 3 age group finishers.  Visit our Facebook page for the latest news.
